I bought this amp to give some more power to my Pyle Home PTCDS5U Vintage Turntable with CD/Cassette/Radio/Aux-In/USB/SD/MP3 and Vinyl to MP3 Encoding(Black). For an inexpensive amp, it gives this vintage component the boost I needed--To get more bass and kick out of the turntable. I will say you do get a "hum" from this amp, but it's only heard when no music is played--Meaning you hear it when the unit is on/silence between songs. The doesn't run hot and that's a plus. It also does not take much room at all! It's about 6 1/2 inches long, light and fits in the palm of your hand!
This is the 2nd Pyle product I've bought and so far so good. I will say if you are looking for a little amp to hook up decent speakers (like the ones I have--Polk Audios) to an mp3 player, this amp DOES deliver for it does feature an MP3/aux in connection on the front of the unit. Another plus is that this little amp comes with it's own ac adapter!
I only give it three stars because I was hoping it would make the speakers shake the walls when playing records, yet just gives the turntable an additional kick and that it does have that hum. But other than that, it is basically suiting it's purpose without breaking the bank and taking up much space on my shelf!

Hooked up some nice Bose speakers to the amp from the laptop. Sounds excellent! I do get a little annoying crackle when adjusting the volume levels from the amp, so now I set and control volume with the mouse.

For the low 30 dollar range, this is an amazing device. I hooked it up to some Polk Audio home speakers, and was surprised how much punch this little amp has. When you figure the fact that they throw in the 110VAC-to-12V converter, along with a fused line to connect to a car, it is hard to believe they can make it for so little cost. On the other hand, this actually is the miracle of miniaturization (Moore's law in the analog world) realizing its potential. I could not be happier if someone had actually given it to me.
The DC input range is 9-14.4 volts, by the way, making it easily connectable to a solar or auto battery system.
