By James E. Scott
In light of the bad reviews, I decided to go ahead and post my review. I've had this amp for about 3 months, but have not gotten to use it for but a few hours because my Explorer's engine's lifters and timing chain tensioners went out. Well, ended up that my mechanic said I should just go ahead and replace the engine, and he was right. So, it's been about 3 months because of money issues. Anyways, back to the review.
It's is absolutely amazing. It pushes my MMATS P3.0 12 Inch very, very well. The sub is rated at 1000 rms and and since it is a DVC 4 ohm, I can only run it at 2 ohms. Which, means I can only run this amp at 700 watts. It just absolutely pounds. I went on drives just to hear it, at least when i could. I ran it for over an hour full blast and it was a bit hot, but still running.
I believe part the problem with the hotness is that I am running 17 feet of CCA 4 gauge wiring to it. Now, If I was running O gauge OFC wiring with a wire reducer to it, I believe it would run a lot cooler and a lot more efficiently.

By Shawn M. Paroline
I've installed dozens of amplifiers, including the old school HiFonics series VII. While this class D amp runs comparatively cool and has nice features such as good power, crossover and remote bass boost module, I found excessive white noise feeding back into the pre amp side of the head unit . The noise can be heard from the factory Bose system in my Corvette, which is not even connected to the same outputs on the head unit. With the RCA input cable disconnected from the HiFonics amp, the noise diappears and the Bose system sounds normal. The HiFonics manual says white noise problems can be corrected by reducing the gain on the amp, but that had no effect. I've had other amplifiers attached to this head unit and had no noise problems. I am now beyond the return window on this purchase. I will try to install a Monster Silencer In-Line Noise Reduction Module Silencer Module (MPC ISM 201 XLN) to see if that lessens the problem. In twenty years, I've never had to install a noise filter on any car audio installation ever. This is a first. UPDATE: I since resolved the noise problem by moving the input to my Schosche (speaker level output to stock Bose system input) to the front channels (was previously connected to the rear speaker outputs). The HIfonics amp is on the rear pre-amp level outputs with no noise issues.
